A month at home

I can’t wait in 2 weeks I have a whole month off, a whole month to spend with my family.  I feel the need to write a list so that I make sure I fit everything I want to do in, I have a whole 15 months of projects to try and complete.

  1. A quick trip to Vietnam, of course my favourite country outside of Australia
  2. Buy a old chest freezer and hang a couple of legs of prosciutto – they should be ready when I get back from Antarctica
  3. Get the home brew started – pale ale for the hubby and cider for me
  4. Weed the side of the house and get the water tank set up so I can start my aquaculture plans
  5. Get the vertical gardens set up so I can plant them when I get home from the freezer
  6. Plan were a worm farm can go
  7. Plan were my beehive is going to go
  8. Maybe chickens
  9. Make bacon, the last lot was a bit to salty….. I need to work on the recipe
  10. Make ham http://sugarmtnfarm.com/2006/04/16/how-to-brine-a-ham/
  11. Redo the corner of the front garden that has gone a bit feral, I think a herb spiral thingy is called for http://themicrogardener.com/4-step-guide-to-building-a-herb-spiral/
  12. First thing to do when I get home is plant tomato’s, my brother has issued the challenge and the annual tomato competition is on.  I will have the biggest, tastiest tomatoes and make the best chutney for the year
  13. Make jams and relish for the hubby
  14. Cook until my heart is content and stick the freezer full of treats and surprises
  15. Expand my cooking repertoire to include more vegetarian and vegan recipes
  16. Drag husband to yoga at least twice a week

I’m going to spend a month refilling my soul with the things I love to do, something to hold onto while I am away again next year.
