Evaluate the usefulness of the Tuckman and Jensen (1977) model in understanding the process a new group goes through as it functions

University work creates all manner of joyous reads. An assignment for Workplace Communication involved  analysising the construction of a relationship theory developed by Tuckman and Jensen in 1977. In this essay I broke down how and why this model proved true or irrelevant to the formation of a group using other theories and considering internal and external factors. Other theories proved and disproved Tuckman’s and conclusively I assessed whether Tuckman’s reformed model was still applicable groups today.

The application of one model to all groups can be troublesome, as all groups function in unique ways and the relevance of any theory can be debated; as opposing theories arise they may disprove the original hypothesis. Henceforth in this essay I plan to explore the criticisms and appropriateness of Tuckman and Jensen’s reformed 1977 model using other theorist’s studies to draw on features it lacks.
