camel riding and old person lycra

I have seen pictures of people riding camels on Cable Beach in Broome and it looks amazing, the only real difference for my camel ride experience was we were not at Cable Beach we were in Alice Springs.

The dust is flowing

Swirling across the landscape, slithering across the road, gathering in trees to create a faint haze across the horizon

Melbourne to Alice Springs

…it hit us on our first night away.  Winds of 50kms an hour rocked the little campervan and the accompanying rain meant dinner was a roast chicken from the 7-11!!

Fraser Island adventures

In the middle of the Island in rainforest, the Central Park campsite is peaceful, cool and well laid out.  Camp sites are level, clearly labelled as for tents or camper trailers and scattered around with enough room for privacy.

The importance of gratitude

tonight, Friday night and I have had about 6 hours of broken sleep in 36 hours and am facing another 60 hours on call… my motivation is heading south

Horsing around in Wanaka

Riding the horses you can see the very start of spring, up close the wild fruit trees have buds just
waiting to burst into flower, the creeks are starting to swell and the wild rose bushes are budding.

Accidental red run

We headed back to base, I found the amazing Akadio and advised her that I wanted to be skiing advanced runs upright within the hour.  She smiled politely and then I tripped over getting into the line for the lift….

Melbourne to Papunya Day 2

We arrived about an hour before sunset, setting up camp in time to enjoy a glass of wine before sunset
